Design Inspiration
3D printed barstools to help move the design process forward. (Pictured on the left).
Based off of initial ideas for the exhibition in the Czech Republic. (Pictured on the right).
An innovative stool that draws inspiration from nature, integrating wood and fabric. This piece embodies the concept of "blooming," offering various configurations that allow the user to personalize their furniture, creating a blend of function and beauty.
Add notes to clarify ideas. Considering mechanisms and mediums before fabrication to identify feasibility.
Ideation
Barstools 3D modeled on Blender then paired with resources available to bring my ideas to life physically.
Experiments with thick foam to mimic how fabric would react when used for large scale model.
Prototypes that were used to move forward with the build.
Received more feedback on the fabric colors as well as the theatrics of their orientations.
Some final sketches and then started sewing as well as wood working in the shop.
Photoshoot for the imagery of the exhibition - idea chosen to mimic the floral inspiration behind the stool.
Iteration 1
scrap wood material - bandsaw
contrasting cloth - sewing machine
green button - 3D print
Feedback from my mentor, users, and stakeholders at the National Gallery in Prague, CZ - helped with rapid prototyping with various machinery as well as practices to use for the redesign.
Iteration 2
birch wood - CNC router
contrasting cloth - sewing machine
green button - 3D print
